Kurt H.

Kurt H. is one of our newest team members at our GR North/Plainfield location and cites his favorite things about working for Village as the people and atmosphere. Originally from Grand Rapids, Kurt studied at Calvin University where he majored in both Secondary Mathematics Education and Philosophy. A committed “all-rounder” with bike disciplines, Kurt has amassed an amazing collection of rides including a Specialized TriCross; Giant Talon; VeloForma Fixed Gear; Gravity Single Speed; Barracuda A2E Mountain Bike (currently his project bike); and a Trek 2300 with modern components. In addition, Kurt has built or rebuilt three of his bikes from the frame up with new components and painted the frames; just what you’d expect from a good bike mechanic! Kurt’s particular favorite is his Specialized TriCross, which he rode 1,100 miles on a self-supported bicycling tour to Baltimore, Maryland last summer. When asked what he likes to do when not at Village Kurt replied: “My second job is teaching students math. I love it! I work with a lot of students that are really struggling or have fallen behind for various reasons.” Unsurprisingly, with passion for education like that, Kurt is a huge supporter of the EF-Education First UCI World pro-racing team.
